DiCarlo Arts Design Studio is a graphic design and web development company with primary offices in Santa Cruz, CA. We specialize in web site design, web application design, and mobile application design. We also offer more traditional design services for printed and published material.

Started as a consulting business in 2008, we have grown to serve a diverse range of clients in the medical fields, retail, fine arts, education, entertainment, and professional services. We have worked with clients in both the public and private sector, both as start-ups and well established companies.

Our primary offices are located in Santa Cruz, CA, however given the nature of modern communications, we are able to accept projects from anywhere. Our clients come from all over the west coast of the united states, the intermountain west, and the east coast. (For a client map, please click here.)

It is our philosophy that the line between fine art and commercial art is one meant to be blurred, scuffed, erased, and redrawn as one sees fit. Illustration can have substance, creative writing can involve a measure of science, and a web page can be more than simply a vehicle to deliver characterless machine-optimized information.

Where programmers lack a visual eye, writers focus on meaning and forget how it’s delivered, and visual designers fall short when an engineer’s mind is necessary to make their pieces work—we fill in the gaps.

Print Design

Even with the expansion of digital media, nothing compares to the feel of real paper in your hand. It leaves a lasting impression which virtual imagery cannot compare to, both in the texture of the ink on the paper’s surface, and in the smell of a newly-opened book. It evokes an emotional connection with the audience which cannot be matched by any other means.

We have experience writing and editing a wide spectrum of material, ranging from creative fiction to advertising copy and even more technical material such as manuals and documentation.
